DAY ???

What day is it?
I worked today...for money. Second shift in the ER in 2 days. (that means rising around 5:30 to be at work on time!) The kids are in Bama still with my folks and I miss them like crazy! My rising early challenge is on hold-or is it? I spent the weekend in Montgomery discipling 8 12-grade girls. FUN. exhausting. couldn't rise early. stayed up way too late. God was still glorified and lifted up. whew.

In a manner of my own and very familiar, I was thinking tonight...I have really enjoyed blogging to your gals-for those of you who are actually reading this. Maybe I will just keep blogging-its therapeutic for me. I could just drop rising early...haven't we done that enough? God said NO. I was born with an annoying and horrible trait-"Love of change". I phrase it that way because its better than saying that I have a hard time following through sometimes! But, I won't stop. Not until I meet my goal: 28 days of rising early. There-its out there now. I feel better knowing I may be held accountable :P

Seriously, can't wait to see your ladies in the morning. You FILL my cupthought this blog might be more fun to read if there was a picture. this was the first one I found. Evie at 14 months and my little cute nephew Alexander...funny because it reminds me of my "love for change"-not running now

DAY 9-Change up

Things are a little off this week. I will head to Montgomery Friday morning and have been preparing all week for my time leading teenage girls-its gonna be awesome! I have been blessed by my mom to be able to sleep in the past couple of days. OH IT IS SO NICE! Got up close to 9:00 this morning!!!!

I also hit up the coffee shop again this afternoon and it was really nice to sit alone, with God.

As I was preparing one of my lessons tonight, God reminded me just how much he loves us and desires to be with us...just as he wants our hearts to long for him, he longs for you!

I will miss you girls tomorrow morning at MOCHA. Thank you for blessing my life...if you are reading this, thanks, hope you are encouraged...are you out there??? If not, I love you anyway. And, I am praying for you. Really praying.

KNOW HIM!!!
off to bed now....ahhhhhh

seclusion...

Day7-8

I am writing you all from a small coffee shop in my hometown of Enterprise, Alabama. I can here to get away for a bit...to focus on God, to be alone with him, to prepare for this weekend as I will lead several teenage girls for 3 days. I packed up the laptop, bible, books, etc and headed over here. Its nice-to be alone (well, at least free of needy toddlers for a few). However, as I sit trying to read my daily bookmarks, it is so hard for me to push out the world and really focus on Christ.

I hear the radio playing...Christian music, but still, I find myself singing along-in my head, of course--they'd throw me out for sure if I started belting out Leeland! People are coming in and out, coffee grinding, cars on the road outside...all this distracts me. I could facebook for 2 hours, read others blogs, shop online. But, hearing from the holy spirit requires more quiet. Why? I really want to meet with God, to be alone, so why can't I quiet the world?

There is a GREAT "must-read", The Jesus Habits:Exercising the Spiritual Disciplines of Jesus. The first habit Jay Dennis (the author) talks about is SECLUSION. NO surprise that Jesus went AWAY. AWAY from NOISE. What noise is there in your life? It may be very apparent. It may not. Pray about it. What tries to sneak in on your time with him??

I did sleep in this morning. I'm at my mom's. That's the point here :()

I pray you each continually seek him. All day. Every day.

good quote to chew on for a bit:
"The great danger is not that we will renounce our faith. It is that we will become so rushed and preoccupied that we will settle for a mediocre version of it." -John Ortberg

OH how I pray that you experience ALL God has for you-its more than we can imagine. Run after him!!
